June 24, 2004
Previously, CBH had announced that the pre-adjudication edits, which are reported in the 227 response file, were to be enforced beginning July 7, 2004.  Until further notice, CBH will continue to relax the edits.

Although the pre-adjudication edits are relaxed, the claims will reject in the adjudication process and will still be reported on the rejection report.

Correction to yesterday's alert:

We are still processing laboratory claims.

June 9, 2004
The following processes are temporarily suspended:
  • Claims adjustment
  • Laboratory claim processing
  • CRC claim processing

CBH will notify providers when these activities are resumed.

June 3, 2004
Files submitted between May 14 and 24, 2004 which were 100% rejected by the 277 edits will be re-processed by CBH.  CBH will process these files within the next ten business days.  Please do not re-submit these files.  Providers will know which files have been re-processed because they will have a designation of rr after the file name.
Until July 6, 2004, CBH will relax the pre-adjudication edits listed below which are reported in the 277 response file.

For the next month, CBH will make a 277 file available to the providers which will give a warning as to what claims would have failed with the edits enforced.  Although the pre-adjudication edits are relaxed, the claims will reject in the adjudication process and will still be reported on the rejection report.  The edits will be enforced again beginning July 7, 2004.

Providers whose files failed due to incorrect data in the Submitter ID data element, must resubmit those files so that they can be reprocessed.
Files submitted between 5/14 and 5/24, 2004, which moved successfully through HIPAA EDI system are currently being processed in the CBH claims adjudication system.

Files submitted after 5/24 are in queue to be processed through CBH HIPAA EDI system. CBH expects to move these files through HIPAA processing beginning 6/1. Providers will not receive TA1 and /or 997 responses for these files until they are processed through the HIPAA EDI system.
