 HIPAA ALERTS

Due to a error in CBH's adjudication process, some claims were incorrectly rejected for late submission during the last adjudication cycle. These claims will be reprocessed by CBH and adjudicated during the next posting cycle. This only impacted authorized services.

October 14, 2004

Please be advised that electronic claim files submitted on 10/4/04 were not processed until 10/6/04.  The server supporting the automatic loading of claim files was unexpectedly down for just one day. Unfortunately that would mean that those provider agencies who submitted electronic files on 10/4/04 DID NOT make the 10/5/04 adjudication and those payments would not be reflected in the 10/13/04 check.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused providers.  All claims received on 10/4/04 have been adjudicated and will be included in their next check. Please remember that CBH has 45 days in which to pay a “clean” claim.
September 29, 2004

There is a correction to the response form accompanying the letter sent to providers on September 28 concerning reactivation of the clock for timely submission of claims.  The second part of the response form should read:

"90 days for unauthorized services and 180 days for authorized services."

It incorrectly states both time limits are for unauthorized services.

September 28, 2004
Letters concerning the timely submission of claims are being sent to all providers reminding them that the claims "Clock" is being reactivated on October 15.  Accompanying the letter is a response form that allows providers to report back to CBH on their ability to meet this effective date.  The forms must be completed and returned to CBH no later than October 8, 2004.

No response will imply that a provider anticipates being able to meet the submission guidelines.

September 15, 2004

On October 15, 2004, the clock for timely submission of claims will revert to 90 days from service date for unauthorized services and 180 days from service date for authorized services.

This is an extension of the September 15 deadline announced on July 22.
